NetEnt Announces New Partnership with Girls in Tech Gibraltar

World-famous software provider NetEnt announced its newest partnership with the non-profit organisation, Girls in Tech in Gibraltar. The announcement was made last week as part of the company’s celebrations for International Women’s Day.

Held on March 8th, International Women’s Day has become synonymous with celebrating the achievements of women as well as the ongoing need for gender parity in social, political, cultural and economic spheres.

Who Are Girls in Tech?

This international non-profit organization known as GIT,  focuses heavily on “the engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.”  Established back  in 2007 by Adriana Gascoigne, Girls in Tech was created as a network to support women from all corners of the world who were striving to succeed in the tech industry and STEM fields. They sought to achieve this through innovative programming together with global partnerships, such as this one.  Headquartered in San Francisco with over 100,000 members globally, GIT primarily depends on volunteer efforts to lead their 60 local chapters.

Despite its success, GIT  makes it clear that the organisation is “not just for professional women” since it also intends to serve as a platform for  those with an interest in technology and startups, as well as women seeking personal growth within this sector. GIT continues to operate with “the spirit of the girl within all of us”, fearless, lively and determined in its efforts to shatter those glass ceilings for women worlwide.

NetEnt to Support GIT’s Efforts

Two of NetEnt’s pillars are diversity and equality, and the company has certainly realised the value of these qualities when it comes to bringing in new talent. Gibraltar is one of the bases for NetEnt’s offices while the state is also well-known as a strategic location for the iGaming industry. These factors will enable the new partnership to flourish substantially in this prime location.

In a recent press release, NetEnt declared that it plans to support Girls in Tech by raising awareness and supporting events organised locally as well as in other office bases. The company has expressed hope that its contribution will help to continue the endorsement of gender parity in the sector.

It also disclosed its goal to have 50/50 gender representation in all levels of the company by 2020 and believes its partnership with GIT will enhance its obligation to fulfilling this goal as well.
